OFFICERS IN ATTENDANCE: Jim Edwards, Bob Streightiff, Joe Power, Barney Poston, Gary Owensby, Jerry Kay.

CALL TO ORDER: Pres. Jim called meeting to order at 1:50 p.m.

MOMENT OF SILENCE: Pres. Jim led our prayer to remember those serving to keep our country safe and for those who can’t be with us due to illness.

INTRODUCTION OF DIRECTORS AND GUEST: A special welcome was extended to Katlyn Price, our Junior Girl’s Champion and Major Forbess, our JAGA Amateur Champion. George Halvorsen played golf with both today and expressed his appreciation of their skill and poise. They are both great representatives of golf in our area. We had 40 directors and guests today.

TREASURER’S REPORT: Jerry Kay reported we have $18,374.71 in the bank, of which $8,710 is our “core” balance.

SECRETARY’S REPORT: Secretary said last months minutes are on the web. They were accepted and seconded.

VICE PRES. OF TOURNAMENTS: Bob Streightiff reported on the JAGA Amateur Championship, saying we enjoyed good media coverage for the event. We had 84 players. Bob presented Major with his score card and a JAGA flag mounted in a glassed picture frame. Some of the effort belongs to Bob’s wife Joan.

Bob presented the club with a check for $1,000, $390 from contributions from participants and $610 from tournament revenue from the Amateur Tournament.

Joe Power reported on the JAGA Junior Tournament. Joe reported that we had 73 total players, 12 of which we girls. He gave Katlyn Price a glassed picture frame of her 2 score cards for the 2 day tournament.

Al Levine reminded us of the upcoming 2-man tournament at Sawgrass.

VICE PRES. OF ADMINISTRATION: Bob Streightiff thanked the volunteers who worked the Amateur tournament.

Today was the first time we have tried playing golf first, then having lunch and meeting.

Bob explained why the GM-Pro tournament is being held August 30 instead of its usual June date. Turns out there was a conflict at the host club.

PAIRINGS COORDINATOR: Pat Caffree announced results of the morning tournament.

Al Boyce will be taking over as pairing coordinator, effective immediately.

SCHOLARSHIP COMMITTEE: No report this month.

WEB MASTER’S REPORT: All is well

OLD BUSINESS: Pres. Jim discussed the need for new officers. As of now, we have no one to take over the position of Secretary for next year. The new provision of officers not obligated to serve the whole 8 years, but can elect to serve a shorter period was discussed.
