President,  Lee Crowe called the meeting to order at 10:30 AM. Director Jim Edwards and Professional Scott Womble of Fernandina Beach welcomed JAGA  and its directors and guests to their ever improving golf course. A moment of silence followed for all deceased JAGA members and for all those suffering due to injury and/or illness. Thereafter, introductions of 45 Directors and guests were made to one another.

Treasurer, Jerry Kay reported that $10,185.72 is in the bank with $4055 from the San Jose 2-man. The balance of $6130.72 is expected after the 2-man.

Secretary’s Report, Joe Power reported that the Minutes of the September meeting had been posted on the JAGA Web site. A motion, made to approve those minutes without further reading, Passed.

Vice President-Aministration, Jim Edwards’ report included 2008 Directors meetings sites. Palencia in January, Orange Park in February, Marsh Landing in March, Queens Harbor in April, Fleming Island in May, Deerwood in June, Slammer and Squire in July, Panther Creek in August, Deerfield Lakes in September, Windsor Park in October and Hyde Park in November. Next years Pro-President is now set for Palencia. Vice President–Tournaments, Bob Streightiff, had tournament chairmen report: Tom Tierney reported that the 2-Man at San Jose has a current field of 54 teams. Space still exists for 6 more teams. Lee Crowe reported that the 2-Man at Palencia will be held on November 19. The field will be limited to 60 teams. Get your entries in early; this is going to close out early. Also, get those entries in for this years Pro-President at Deerwood. The December 3rd event costs $280 for each team. If you do not have a team, let Lee know and you will be paired with others to form a winning team.         Scholarship Committee Chairman- Tom Tierney  reported the Dixie Jones account has been resolved. Contributions to the JAGA Scholarship Fund: Hyde Park JAGA Director Hugh Dever, reported on the recent Hyde Park Tournament, attended by 130 players.  $4200 for the JAGA Scholarship Fund was raised. Thank you Hugh Dever, thank you Hyde Park.  Web Master-Barney Poston has everything you need to know about JAGA on the Web Site. Minutes, both old and new; Entry forms; Schedules of Tournaments and Directors Meetings all can be found there. New Directors, make sure you get your new shirt and badge on, stand up straight and comb your hair, if in fact you have any under that hat, for your directory picture. See Barney with your best smile. Finally, view all the Tournament Results on the Web Site. Everything is there. Old Business – None. New Business – Ed Whitten pointed out that next months meeting will be the first held during “standard time” and consideration should be given to playing earlier. (Sunset will occur at 5:28PM).While little time was spent on Ed’s point perhaps we could Eat faster, Start earlier, Play faster and/or Set a Pace of Play faster than a 5 hour round. Lee Crowe raised the issue of Tees to be played. While most agreed that Red Tees should be available to those over the age of 80, Senior Tees for those past the age of 60 and White or Regulars Tees for those under the age of 60, it was agreed to leave Play from the Whites as it was set for the day. In the future, perhaps White Tees could be set out at @ 6000+/- yds for each venue. Bob Streightiff has new hats available for those who gave extra volunteer time this past year. Steve Wyand would appreciate early sign ups for next months meeting at Sawgrass. Life will be a bit easier if Steve can give his Club an indication of numbers sooner than our signup deadline. Guest Speaker-Ron Cross was introduced to us by his newest dear friend, Steve Wyand.  Ron Cross is the Executive Director of The Players Championship. He is a “local” who started his involvement with TPC as a volunteer. After several years he finds himself at the helm. He is and will be involved in: Change – New Clubhouse, Champions Room, Open to the public for Lunch and Dinner; Giving Back – Millions to institutions and individuals by way of grants and scholarships and the First Tee program; Goal –50,000 tickets sold each day of The Players and Tradition- Mothers Day at TPC. Ron’s experience, drive and style lead me to believe that The Players are in good hands and destined for even greater success. Questions of Ron centered on Parking at TPC and the Fed Ex Cup.                                                                                                                  Pairings Coordinator, Ed Tormollen announced   pairings for the day’s golf. The Blessing for Lunch was given by Jim Todd.  The Meeting Adjourned at 11:28 AM

Respectfully Submitted,

Joe Power, Secretary
