President, Jim Andrews, called the meeting to order at 10:30 A.M. with 51 Directors and guests present. The Directors introduced themselves and their guests. Jim thanked Fred Seely and Chad Luccovsky of Golf News for their fine support of JAGA.

Secretary, Bob Streightiff’s minutes from the last meeting at Deerwood CC were approved as posted on the web site.

Treasurer, Jerry Kay, reported a treasury balance of $16,139.64 with some bills outstanding as of today.

Vice President-Administration, Lee Crowe, informed us Southern Oaks Country Club will host the next meeting on August 15th. Steve Lemley asked the directors to support this meeting in order to help him convince the owner of Southern Oaks to be more supportive of JAGA. Lee also asked Bob Streightiff to send a sympathy card to Ed Bobola on behalf of JAGA due to the passing of Ed’s wife. Most monthly meeting dates are scheduled for 2007 with The Palencia Club hosting January 2007. That meeting is capped at 52 directors for golf.

Vice President-Tournaments, Jim Edwards, asked for reports from the tournament chairmen.  Lee Crowe reminded us the final Two Man event is at Timuquana Country Club in October. He reported the field is over half full thus far and the entry fee is $89.00. Next year’s Two Man tournament will have four specific events. Barney Poston reported the Father’s Day tournament was a big success with 88 entries. He thanked all the directors who volunteered and presented a check for $1,073.89 to the scholarship fund. Don Haws indicated the 2006 City Amateur was a huge success with the best field in many years. He thanked the host golf clubs and volunteers. Don read a report from Al Levene for the Juniors Tournament which had a field of 72 players. Al thanked all the volunteers who worked the tourney and indicated a contribution will be forthcoming to the scholarship fund when the final budget is completed. The Bill Black Classic is scheduled for September 11, 2006 at Ponte Vedra Inn and Club.

Scholarship Chair, Tom Tierney, was absent.  Contributions to the trust were received from Marsh Creek Country Club ($1,100.00), Marsh Landing Seniors ($550.00), Queen’s Harbour MGA ($2,000.00), and Selva Marina CC ($7,135.00).

Jim Andrews announced the names of five new scholars for fall 2006. There were 16 applications this year.

Jim Andrews and Earl Kelly reported on the past presidents meeting held on June 6, 2006. The past presidents recommended that JAGA remain at 2 directors from each member club and participation in tournaments should be golfers from member clubs only. Also, tournament chairmen should be verifying handicaps. The tournament books should be updated at the end of each event.

The directors voted to keep playing the same points game at each monthly meeting.

After reading the JAGA constitution to the directors, Jim Andrews served notice that next month’s meeting agenda will include discussion and voting on various amendments to the constitution and by-laws.

Bob Streightiff read a letter from Allan Bennett, who was a guest of Fred Seely at last month’s meeting. Mr. Bennett was very complimentary of JAGA and our scholarship efforts in particular.

Pairings Coordinator, Ed Tormollen, was absent so Jim Edwards filled in for him and announced the pairings.

The meeting adjourned at 11:37 A.M.

Respectively submitted,

Bob Streightiff, Secretary
