Directors Meeting Windsor Parke Golf Club
October 17, 2006

Officers Present: Jim Andrews, Lee Crowe, Don Haws, Jerry Kay, and Bill Black. Officers Absent: Bob Streightiff, Jim Edwards, Barney Poston and Tom Tierney.

President, Jim Andrews, called the meeting to order at 10:30A.M. with 43 Directors and guests present. The Directors introduced themselves and their guests. Windsor Parke head professional, Mark Heeter, welcomed us to the Club.

Secretary Bob Streightiff’s minutes from the September 19, 2006 meeting at the Country Club of Orange Park were approved as posted on the web site.

Treasurer, Jerry Kay, reported a treasury balance of $3,382.15. All bills have been paid. We also have income of $260 for the December Pro/Pres..

Vice President-Administration, Lee Crowe, informed us Deercreek C.C. would be the host for next months meeting. Additionally, The Palencia Club will host the JAGA Director’s meeting in January 2007.

In the absence of Vice President-Tournaments, Jim Edwards, Lee Crowe reported on the JAGA Two-Man tournament that concluded at Timuquana Country Club. Winners were Tom Murray and Derek Jolly. Their awards included professional sized golf bags. The Two-Man generated $540 for the Scholarship Fund. Overall this year’s JAGA events resulted in more than $8000 for Scholarships. A special thanks was extended to Fernandina Beach and its participation ( 20 players yesterday) in this years 2-Man events. Next years 2-Man Championship Series will include venues of Deerwood, Ponte Vedra Inn, San Jose, Palencia and one TBA for the May event.

Executive Secretary, Bill Black, announced that this years Pro/President will be held on December 4th at the Ponte Vedra Inn and Club’s Ocean course. Entries will be limited to the first 32 teams. Don’t wait and miss out.

Guest speaker, Mike Lynch, was not able to attend today’s meeting.

Mike Cooper, reporting for Tom Tierney, stated that all is progressing on schedule with this years scholarship recipients. Contributions to the Fund included: Deercreek Men’s Club - $250 ; Fernandina Beach - $250 and from Palencia - $2000.

President, Jim Andrews, expressed thanks to all the officers that served with him through his term of two years. A special “Thank You” was extended to Lee Crowe for all his assistance with note to the successful 2-Man and Bill Black tournaments that Lee organized.

OLD BUSINESS: The following were clarified and/or agreed to: 1) The Webmaster (Barney Poston) position is included in the officers, 2) Each club has a total of One Vote regardless of number of Directors, 3) We will decide what action will be taken where clubs do not attend, 4) A vote to expand Directors would be decided by having One Director from each club stand and vote on any motion, 5) A quorum was declared present for this meeting, 6) MOVED and seconded that “ At all relevant sections of the By-Laws and Constitution, provisions would be made to provide for up to three Directors from each club…” PASSED, 7) Earl Kelly volunteered to review By-Laws and Constitution , 8) Jerry Kay suggested that each tournament pay for its own trophies and one half the cost of advertising instead of raising dues to member clubs. Dues are currently $150 per year. Their was no expressed opposition to such suggestion.

NEW BUSINESS: Don Haws announced the Nominations Committee’s proposed slate of officers for next year, it includes the following:

Pairings Coordinator, Ed Tormollen, announced a “Schedule of Play” was being handed out. It showed pairings and assignments.

The meeting adjourned at 11:20 A.M.
