He asked for a club to host that month and subsequent to the end of the meeting, he learned that Deerwood Country Club will serve as host.  Next month’s meeting is at The Plantation at Ponte Vedra on December 5, 2005.

Vice President-Tournaments, Jim Edwards, thanked all tourney chairs for their efforts in 2005. He reminded the directors of the Pro-President to be held on December 5, 2005. We have 18 entries thus far and the tournament will be 2 of 4 best ball. Jim told us he’s attempting to secure The Golf Club of Amelia Island for the spring 2006 Two Man Tournament.  He also asked for clubs to volunteer to host tournaments in the future.  Don Haws indicated that the 2006 City Amateur will be held at Marsh Landing CC and Deerwood Country Club July 13-16, 2006. He asked all directors to secure a list of the top 10 golfers from their club according to handicap index and e-mail it to him. Don will send a letter to all these golfers next spring extending an invitation to play in the City Amateur.
