The meeting was called to order by
president Don Haws at 10:32 a.m. The
directors attending were 37. The reading of the minutes was waived.
Jerry Kay/ treasurer reported the balance in the bank at $5,245.81
as of 09-14-2003 with all bills paid.
Jim Andrews/ V.P. administration reported that our next meeting
will be 10-20-2003 at Deercreek( take note this is a Monday), 11-18-2003
at Eagle Harbor, and the Pro-President will be 12-08-2003 at Selva Marina.
Lee Crowe is recovering from his surgery and Jim Todd is going to
take over for Lee and run the JAGA Two Man tournament. Jim reported that
as of today we only had a total of 16 teams entered.
Jim also reported that we still need hole sponsors foe the Bill
Black Tournament and that we only have 14 teams so far.
Jim Andrews gave a wrap up on the Junior Tournament: Michael O'Neal
(S.J.C.C.) was this years winner and shot a 63 on the final day. We had
about 40 players this year. The
Mixed Tournament is to be played on 11-24-2003 and 11-25-2003 before
Thanksgiving at Orange Park Country Club.
Next year's Senior Tournament is set for 04-5,6,7-2003 at Eagle
Harbor. Thomas
Tierney/scholarships reported that we now have 24 people on scholarship
and so far 19 checks have been sent for this semester. The following
donations were made to the scholarship fund: San Jose Country Club and
it's Men's Golf Assoc.-$11,055.00, Marsh Creek-$750.00,
Deerwood-$1,100.00, Hyde Park Men's Golf Assoc.-$2,800.00, New Port
Properties-$100.00, from the Father's Day Tournament-$569.30 and from the
Junior's Tournament-$610.00. A
golf bag was presented to Ed Whitten in appreciation for all the years of
dedicated service as Scholarship Chairman. There was much discussion about
the LACK of support by our Directors for our own tournaments. Current
examples: Two Man and Bill Black Tournaments.
We then broke up into our different committees.

Reports:
Tournament:
Do not change the Bill Black Tournament to a different part of the year in
the future. We need to do a better job of coordination with reference to
football schedules and other tournaments going on at that time.
Scholarships:
Nothing new to report.
Ways
and Means: All tournaments will be open to eligible members only with the
exception of The Bill Black Tournament, Hillyer Tournament and The Junior
Tournament as of 2004.
