Jerry Kay
was unable to

never received a bill, so another one will be sent. No other clubs have
joined at this time.
Jim Andrews
, Vice
President Administrations, said that our next meeting will be at
Magnolia Point, July meeting will be at
San Jose
and August
meeting at Ponte Vedra. There was discussion about sending a letter to
all the General Managers and Head Pros of the member clubs from
President Haws inviting them to our August meeting. This was approved by
a voice vote. Each director was asked to acquire the e-mail address of
their club if they have one and get it to
Barney Poston
. Lee Crowe,
Vice President Tournaments, reported our Mid-Am Tournament had a total
of 39 players in the gross division and 2 in the net division. A total
of $344.00 was raised for our scholarship fund. More directors need to
participate in the running of our tournaments.
Barney Poston
reported that our Father’s Day Tournament at Ponte
Vedra Country Club on June 7 and June 8 has 46 entries, 6 hole sponsors
and will have a variety of proximity and door prizes.
Tom Tierney
, Scholarships,
reported that there will be a meeting of the selection committee soon to
fill our vacant scholarships for next fall.
There
was no old business. New business is as follows:
Barney Poston
requested
permission to put JAGA on our web site. After discussion this was
approved by a voice vote. Also our current web site has been free, but
that might change in the near future, so Barney requested permission to
begin looking for a new site. This was also approved.
Following
are the committee reports:
Ways
& Means: Much discussion about allowing non-member players to
participate in our tournaments, and it was reaffirmed that they should
not in the future. Also discussed the possibility of using name tags at
our meetings.
Rules
& Handicap: Discussion of our playing by the rules of golf instead
of our current format.
Junior
Golf: Again, all people seem to want from us at this time is money.
Tournaments:
Mid-Am will now be a gross (scratch) score tournament only. We have not
had many people interested in playing in the handicap division for a
while.
Scholarship:
We will invite the scholarship recipients to our July meeting instead of
the June meeting.
Meeting adjourned at
11:32 a.m.
Cordially,
Mike Cooper
Secretary
