DIRECTOR’S MEETING

SEPTEMBER 17, 2002

FERNANDINA BEACH GOLF CLUB

President Bart O’Leary called the meeting to order at 10:15 a.m. Other officers present were Vice President Don Haws, Executive Secretary Bill Black, Secretary Lee Crowe, Treasurer Jerry Kay, Vice President of Tournaments Jim Andrews and Scholarships Ed Witten. There were 41 directors and guests present.

Minutes of previous meeting accepted as read. Jerry Kay gave the Treasurer’s report. There is $10,964.47 in the bank minus expenses that have not been paid. Don Haws reported that the October meeting at Marsh Creek has been changed to Wednesday, October 23rd. The November 19th meeting will be held at the Ravines Golf Club. Jim Andrews reported that the Pro-President will be held at Orange Park Country Club. Gene Hughson reported on the Fall Mixed. There were 21 teams. Everyone had a great time. There was a check for $400.00 given to the Scholarship Fund. Lee Crowe reported on the upcoming 2-Man Championship. Earl Kelly talked about the Over-80 Tournament at Selva Marina on September 30th. Ed Witten gave the scholarship fund report. (See information sheet enclosed.) Don Barker presented a check from Selva Marina for $7,745.00.

There was no new business. Under old business, Carl Arnold had extensive questions concerning our cost of $40.00 for lunch and golf at our meetings. We had lots of discussion on the matter. It will be addressed to the Ways & Means Committee. Ed Witten will be ordering new JAGA director shirts. New officers nominated will be presented at the October meeting for the November election. Bart O’Leary discussed relations with JAGA and all club members. Pros and owners will be asked to appoint directors who will come to the meetings and be active in JAGA. Information sheets will be sent out with bills for the 2003 membership dues. Bud Markle spoke about cutting back on tournaments. Bart spoke about tournaments in general.

Charlie Hoenstine gave out golf pairings and the meeting was adjourned for lunch at 11:20.
