DIRECTOR’S
MEETING
NOVEMBER
19, 2002
THE
RAVINES GOLF CLUB
The meeting was called to order at 10:05 a.m.
Officers present were President Bart O’Leary, Vice President of
Administrations Don Haws, Vice President of Tournaments Jim Andrews,
Executive Secretary Bill Black, Secretary Lee Crowe, Treasurer Jerry Kay
& Scholarships Ed Witten. There was a total of 46 directors and guests
present. Ryan Walter, Ravines Head Pro, welcomed JAGA to The Ravines. He
spoke about the condition of the course. Secretary Lee Crowe gave a report
on Homer Nix’s condition. Jerry Kay billed 48 clubs for 2003 dues. Don
reported that the January 2003 meeting will be at Deerwood. Jim Andrews
gave report on 2003 tournaments schedule. Bill reported the Pro-President
in Orange Park on December 9, 2002. Field is limited to 30 teams. We have
18+ now. Ed gave the scholarship report. We now have 22 on scholarships.
Southern Oaks from Lake City gave $300.00 to the scholarship fund. Earl
Strickland gave $500.00 from Orange Park Senior Mens Association. There
will be a FSGA rules seminar at Timuquana the 3rd Tuesday in
February 2003. There was no new or old business. Bart spoke about the
incoming officers and gave thanks to all outgoing officers. At the end of
his farewell speech as President, Bart received a standing ovation.
Thanks, Bart, for all of your leadership. All committees met for 35
minutes and reported 5 minutes on discussions. Jim Edwards gave golf
pairings and meeting was adjourned for lunch and golf.
This is the last director’s meeting for 2002. HAVE A GREAT
HOLIDAY SEASON.

Cooper, the new secretary.

P.S. As of this writing, Homer Nix is recuperating
at home. He wants to thank everybody for the prayers, thoughts, cards
& calls. He hopes to be back with all of us soon. We want to continue
to remember Homer in our thoughts & prayers.
