Other officers present were Executive Secretary Bill Black, Secretary Lee Crowe, Treasurer Jerry Kay and Vice President of Tournaments Jim Andrews. There were only 35 members and guests present. The clubhouse at Marsh Creek was unavailable, so the meeting was held at the Holiday Inn at St. Augustine Beach. Host Tom Stecker welcomed JAGA to St. Augustine. Bill Black spoke about the Pro-President Tournament to be held on December 9th and applications were handed out. Jim Andrews is working on next year's tournament schedule. Bill Black read a letter to the directors from Jim Callender. Seems like Jim doesn't like Texas and is thinking about moving back to Jacksonville. It was reported that Lake City Golf Club is changing its name to Southern Oaks. Tom Tierney announced the new officers as follows: Don Haws, President; Jim Andrews, Vice President of Administrations; Lee Crowe, Vice President of Tournaments; Mike Cooper, Secretary; Jerry Kay, Treasurer. Jud Ammiano made the motion to accept these officers. This motion was seconded and carried 100%. Fred Sealey introduced Jim Bailey as our guest speaker. Jim gave a great presentation on all the workings of Bailey Publishing. Meeting was adjourned at 11 a.m. for lunch at the Holiday Inn. We returned to Marsh Creek for golf at 12:30. We had a very poor turnout. There were only 31 of our 120 directors present. Once again we are asking club pros to please appoint directors who will take interest in and be active in JAGA. Cordially, Lee Crowe P.S. As many of you already know, Homer Nix recently underwent liver transplant surgery. Our prayers and thoughts are with Homer and his family. We wish you a speedy recovery, Homer! |
