DIRECTOR’S MEETING MINUTES

DEERCREEK GOLF & COUNTRY CLUB

TUESDAY, OCTOBER 16, 2001

President Bart O’Leary called the meeting to order at 10:37 AM. There were 40 members and guests present. Officers present were President Bart O’Leary, Vice President Don Haws, Vice President of Tournaments Jim Andrews, Secretary Lee Crowe, Treasurer Jerry Kay, Executive Secretary Bill Black and Ed Witten -Scholarships.

Welcome back Bob Cuartero. Bob has been recovering from heart surgery and illnesses during the past year. Stay healthy Bob.

Treasurer Jerry Kay gave the financial report. There is $6379.06 in the bank. We will be changing banks because of new cost at Bank of America.

Bill Black reported on the JAGA Pro-President Tournament to be held on December 3rd at Timuquana Country Club. There is a limit of 32 teams. Applications were made available. Vice President of Tournaments Jim Andrews gave a report on the Jr. Tournament and Lee Crowe reported on the JAGA 2-Man Tournament. Both events were successful. The 2-Man Tournament gave $266.84 to the scholarship fund. Gene Hughson gave a report on the Fall Mixed tournament and we still need more players.

Vice President of Administration Don Haws announced that the next meeting will be on November 20th at Windsor Parke Golf Club. There will be a Senior Member-Guest tournament event on December 8th & 9th at Deercreek Golf & Country Club. Contact Don Haws for further information.

Ed Witten gave the scholarship report. The amount of interest earned on the checking account is $7189.00 for the year. Ed gave a report on which clubs had given and which clubs had not given to the Scholarship Fund.

Timuquana Director Gary Hogan has moved to Seattle. Bart O’Leary read his letter of resignation. President Bart O’Leary announced that the Trustees will meet at 9:30 AM on November 20th before the Director's meeting. Steve Lemley announced that raffle tickets are being sold to raise money for the Scholarship Fund.

President Bart O’Leary introduced Director Dan Meinert who introduced guest speaker Emory Pater. Emory is the General Manager for Arvida Corp. He spoke about golf course relationship with developers. Had a good question and answer session about St. Johns Golf and Country Club and homes around the golf course.

Jim Edwards announced golf pairings. Meeting was adjourned at 11:35 AM for lunch with golf to follow.
