JACKSONVILLE AREA GOLF ASSOCIATION DIRECTOR’S MEETING DEERCREEK COUNTRY CLUB TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 20, 2001 President Bart O’Leary called the meeting to order at 10:30 A.M. There were 56 members and guest present. Officers present were Bart O’Leary, Don Hawes, Jim Andrews, Lee Crowe, Jerry Kay, Bill Black, Ed Witten and Immediate past President Carl Arnold. Bart mentioned Jim Timlin is in St. Lukes Hospital. Hugh McCrackin who was a pro and a Director of Golf at Marsh Creek passed away last month-a moment of silence was observed in his memory. Ed Witten gave the scholarship report. Marsh Creek gave $195.00 and Hidden Hills gave $500.00. There will be a maximum of 30 scholarships available. The May meeting will be the deadline for scholarship applications not May 1st as mentioned in February’s newsletter. Secretary’s report was accepted as read except for scholarship correction. The Treasurer’s report was given on finances. There is a balance of $5321.40 with all bills paid. Vice President Don Haws announced the next meeting will be held on March 20 at Pine Lakes Golf Club. Vice President Of Tournaments Jim Andrews announced the Tournament Directors and Assistants meeting will be Tuesday February 27 at 9:30 A.M. at Ponte Vedra. He also announced there will be different workshops coming up March 1st at Timuquana from 8-12. Next tournament -Jaga Srs. March 12-14 at Eagle Harbor-Warren Healy is the Tournament Director. FSGA Jim Callendar talked about workshop from February meeting at Timuquana. Next one will be March 1st from 8-12. Under Old Business-Check with Pros about JAGA dues and ideals for JAGA. Under New Business-Gary Hogan from Timuquana spoke about USGA Sr. Amateur. Program Director Dan Mienert introduced Dave Ward the Executive Director of the First Tee program and also Ed Burney the Executive Director of St. Johns County. The guest speakers spoke about the First Tee program in Jacksonville and St. Augustine. Meeting was adjourned at 11:30 A.M. for lunch and golf. February golf winners at Deercreek were:
