Under New Business-Bill Black would like to see the same turnout at all of the Golf Clubs each month regardless which golf club the meeting is held at. Bill is dissappointed that we don’t show the same turn out at all of the golf clubs. No Old Business. Bart O’Leary distributed the new directory and VP date forms and gave out a copy of the JAGA constitution. He spoke about promoting golf with the traditional tournament info provided in the Florida Times Union and Golf News. Also the scholarship program needs more funding; need to contact new clubs in the area. Ralph announced the golf pairings and the meeting was adjourned at 11:45 A.M. for lunch. January golf winners at Deerwood were:
Coordially, Lee Crowe, Sec. Thoughts from Bill Black-Executive Secretary: At the meeting Bill mentioned how good it is to have 64 members & guest for Deerwood. Bill would like to have good turnouts at all meetings regardless of which club we meet at. All clubs support JAGA, not just Deerwood, Sawgrass, Timuquana ect.... but lets support our public courses also with a good turnout each month. Our meetings are to conduct the business of JAGA, not just a social function & golf outing. It’s important that golf clubs select the directors who will attend all meetings and not just a select few. It does not make JAGA look good when we have a meeting at some clubs that have poor turnout just because its a Public course. Bill will be encouraging Pro’s & Club owners to appoint directors who will support all JAGA events including meetings each month & all JAGA tournaments. We have a very poor turnout from our directors in our own JAGA tournaments. Lets support our tournaments with play and working on tournament committee. Last, please bring guests who are prospective Directors or filling in for an absent director. Thank You, Bill Black, Executive Sec.
