CONDITIONS OF THE COMPETITION
 

ELIGIBILITY:

Entries are open to amateur golfers who are members of JAGA clubs. All entrants in the Net Divisions must have a current handicap index from a USGA Handicap Certified and licensed club.

Entries are subject to rejection at any time (including during the championship) by the committee. The reason for rejection may include unbecoming conduct.

SCHEDULE:

The competition will be 18 holes, at modified alternate shot two man foursomes stroke play, held on Monday, May 14, 2007 at Country Club of Orange Park with a shotgun start beginning at 9:00 A.M.

FORMAT:

Modified alternate shot two man foursome format shall be each partner hits a tee shot, the selected ball is then played by the partner whose drive was not selected and then alternate shots until the ball is holed.

FLIGHTING:

The competition will be conducted in three divisions as follows: 1. Scratch Division – No handicap, played from Orange tees at 6750 yards 2. Regular Net Division – Handicap, played from Blue tees at 6548 yards 3. Senior Net Division – Handicap, played from White tees at 5911 yards; note both partners must be 55 or older to play in this Division

HANDICAP ALLOWANCES:

The Scratch Division will be played with no handicap allowed.

The Regular Net Division allowances: handicap allowance to be 40% of pair’s total Course Handicap. Allowances shall be rounded up or down to a whole number.

The Senior Net Division allowances: handicap allowance to be 40% of pair’s total Course Handicap. Allowances shall be rounded up or down to a whole number.

PLACES; TIES:

Lowest scorers for 18 holes will be the Division winners. Ties for all places will be decided by final round score card match using the back nine, last six, last three, then hole by hole regression from hole #18. In the Net Divisions, the last nine will receive one half of the allowance, the last six will receive one third of the allowance, the last three one sixth of the allowance and then the regression will use the stroke allocation table. If any ties remain, the committee will decide by lot.

ENTRIES:

All players shall apply on JAGA forms obtained from JAGA Member Clubs, web site: jaxareagolfassn.com, Golf News, or Tournament Chairman. Reproductions are acceptable. Entry fee of $170.00 shall accompany the entry form with all pertinent information supplied. All entries must be received by the closing date, May 7, 2007.

Entry fee will be refunded if the Tournament Chairman is notified before the closing date. After the closing date the entry fee will be refunded only in the event of injury or illness at the discretion of the Tournament Chairman.

RULES OF GOLF; CLOSE OF COMPETITION:

Play will be governed by the Rules of Golf as approved by the U.S.G.A. and modified by the Local Rules. Questions will be settled by the Tournament Committee, whose decision will be final. The competition shall be deemed to have closed when all prizes have been awarded.

DOUBT AS TO PROPER PROCEDURE:

A copy of Rule 3-3 is included with the Local Rules sheet provided to each player.

GOLF EQUIPMENT AND GOLF BALLS:

Only golf equipment approved by the U.S.G.A. will be allowed. Only brands of balls on the most current U.S.G.A. list of conforming golf balls may be used.

TIME OF STARTING:

The optional condition for time of starting prescribed in Appendix I, Part C, paragraph 2 of the U.S.G.A. Rules of Golf shall be in effect.
