JAGA TWO MAN FOUR BALL

CONDUCTED BY JACKSONVILLE AREA GOLF ASSOCIATION

 PONTE VEDRA INN AND CLUB

ELIGIBILITY:

All entrants in the Net Divisions must have a current handicap index from a USGA Handicap Certified and licensed club.

Entries are subject to rejection at any time (including during the championship) by the committee. The reason for rejection may include unbecoming conduct.

SCHEDULE:

The competition will be 18 holes, four ball stroke play,  held on Monday, August 20, 2007 at Ponte Vedra Inn and Club with a shotgun start  beginning at 9:00 A.M.

FORMAT:

Two man four ball format shall be each partner plays his own ball with the better score of the pair on each hole being the team score.

FLIGHTING:

The competition will be conducted in three divisions as follows:

1.                  Scratch Division – No handicap, played from Blue tees at 6498 yards

2.                  Regular Net Division – Handicap, played from White tees at 6066 yards

3.                  Senior Net Division – Handicap, played from Green tees at 5618 yards; note both partners must be 55 or older to play in this Division

HANDICAP ALLOWANCES:

The Scratch Division will be played with no handicap allowed.

The Regular Net Division allowances: handicap allowance to be 90% of Course Handicap. Allowances shall be rounded up or down to the nearest whole number (.5 or more is rounded upward).

The Senior Net Division allowances: handicap allowance to be 90% of Course Handicap. Allowances shall be rounded up or down to the nearest whole number (.5 or more is rounded upward).

Note: If (after allowance) the Course Handicaps of members of a team differ by more than eight strokes, an additional 10 percent reduction will be applied to the Course Handicap of each member of that team.

54 HOLE CHAMPIONSHIP:

Each Division will be competing over 54 holes total score. The teams will be made up of the same pair and must play in the same division for all three events to be eligible for the division title. A team from each division will receive the championship prize.

PLACES; TIES:

Lowest scorers for 18 holes will be the Division winners. Ties for all places will be decided by final round score card match using the back nine, last six, last three, then hole by hole regression from hole #18. In the Net Divisions, the last nine will receive one half of the allowance, the last six will receive one third of the allowance, the last three one sixth of the allowance and then the regression will use the stroke allocation table. If  any ties remain, the committee will decide by lot.

 ENTRIES:

All players shall apply on JAGA forms obtained from JAGA Member Clubs, web site: jaxareagolfassn.com, Golf News, or Tournament Chairman. Reproductions are acceptable. Entry fee of $170.00 shall accompany the entry form with all pertinent information supplied. All entries must be received by the closing date, August 13, 2007.

Entry fee will be refunded if the Tournament Chairman is notified before the closing date. After the closing date the entry fee will be refunded only in the event of injury or illness at the discretion of the Tournament Chairman.

RULES OF GOLF; CLOSE OF COMPETITION:

Play will be governed by the Rules of Golf as approved by the U.S.G.A. and modified by the Local Rules. Questions will be settled by the Tournament Committee, whose decision will be final. The competition shall be deemed to have closed when all prizes have been awarded.

DOUBT AS TO PROPER PROCEDURE:

Please note Rule 3-3 is to be followed precisely if the player is in doubt as to the proper procedure and wishes to play a second ball.

GOLF EQUIPMENT AND GOLF BALLS:

Only golf equipment approved by the U.S.G.A. will be allowed.

Only brands of balls on the most current U.S.G.A. list of conforming golf balls may be used.

TIME OF STARTING:

The optional condition for time of starting prescribed in Appendix I, Part C, paragraph 2 of the U.S.G.A. Rules of Golf shall be in effect.
